I had so many things I wanted to say, plans to post this or that to help with the transition for the community, or even just for myself.. to do something meaningful as the end of my journey here.

But quite frankly I feel like my journey over there has already begun, in fact the potential of the journey over there is what pulled me back in... and I’ve spent the last few weeks helping the over there become somewhere I want to be.

So rather than this be a ramblings about the end of an era here, I want to talk about new beginnings.

Over the last month or so I’ve seen this community come together like never before. We took on a giant and we are still standing strong, arguably stronger actually.

We protected our home the best way we knew how, and when we realized that home wasn’t home anymore.. we came together to build a new one - A better one.

One with no centralized entity holding us back, no ill gotten stake, or horrible, horrible management.. just a fresh slate.

Hive will be what we make it.

This is our time to shine. This is our time to build, and this is our time to show what this technology and the community who built it is capable of.

But no one else is going to do that for us.

We have no more excuses.

That’s right, it’s just us. We can’t blame Ned and his guitar, bad communication or slow development on anyone else anymore. We can’t just sit in discord and bitch about how bad stinc sucks... it’s on us.

Decentralization can be a bitch guys.. so I hope you’re ready.

As we all will play a role. We all will have a personal responsibility to contribute to what we want to see. That means you too, all of you.

The community is what holds the value, and the value will follow the community. We all play a part.

Laying a Solid Foundation

Over the last weeks many community members made up of Devs, witnesses, stakeholders, normal users etc, worked together.. as volunteers, to build a solid base foundation for this new community chain - Hive.

The goal being to set it up for success, and then give it to the community.. free of all the previous burden. I can’t even begin to explain how much love, passion, frustration, sleepless nights and stubborn ass determination went into this by all those involved.

This community means that much to them.. as we are all the community, every single one of us. This was all our home.

I only say this as I see some old habits creeping back up, the “Us vs. Them” mentality which seems so hard for us to shake free of. I just ask that perhaps we attempt a new beginning.. free of our own burden as well.

A fresh slate where we remember we are all just community members, and we are all here because .. well mostly because we are insane and gluttons for punishment.. but also because it’s our home.

We are all in this together, just don’t forget that.

Nothing is Perfect.

There will be bumps, there will be issues .. hell guys we may see a complete shit storm at some point in our new home.. and we, the community members, will have to come together again to work through the issues and improve them.

We all need to be prepared to accept things won’t be perfect and we will see glitches tomorrow.. it’s just gonna happen.

We will see some upset by some decisions, and we will have to work through that as well.

Have some patience, show some grace.. and remember we are on the same team.

We are a community that decided our values and core beliefs in decentralization were worth fighting for.. and we are showing our strength by standing up for what we believe in.

We are making our new home on Hive.io and leaving the centralized bullshit behind.

I’m ready for the revolution, are you?

See you on the other side ✌🏼

Much love,

Justine

A big round of applause for the team that worked tirelessly and made this a reality within just 2 weeks. The timeframe is what makes it astonishing! See you on the other side!

What we have to expect about our funds on steem? do you suggest to withdrawal?

That's all up to you, you can withdraw, but doing so before the snapshot, you'll miss the airdrop

Well said Justine, I'm checking you out over there 🤞🏼

Best wishes I have lost all interest in being part of this experimental process and will watch from the sidelines to see if hive can coalesce... My expectations are low perhaps dismal as I am not exactly a fan of the majority of those that will be leading the way.. No offense to you, you're cool lol.. BTW I of course don't intend to be on steem either. I'm not into the between a rock and a hard place vibe and I fail to see how losing that "precious" earmarked ninja mined stake is a victory.. Life is calling and I'm not feeling hive..

Well that is understandable even if it’s unfortunate (and btw I won’t be leading anything.. we got no leaders 😉) but I do hope you at least keep an eye out to see how it ends up.

I do feel pretty optimistic.. even though I also know those that have literally done nothing through all this will still rise up.. it’s human nature.. someone’s visual.. talks a lot etc.. always seems to be pushed into the top.. even if their contributions are slim.

So.. as I said, we won’t be perfect.. but I think it’s worth a snot regardless ❤️ Best wishes

Keep that snot to yourself ma'am!

😄 I’m so tired .. just be happy with the snot

I enjoyed your video, @justineh, the other day, about how we got to where we're at, and am migrating to Hive, too.

This sounds cynical, can I ask you to elaborate:

those that have literally done nothing through all this will still rise up.. it’s human nature.. someone’s visual.. talks a lot etc.. always seems to be pushed into the top.. even if their contributions are slim.

Okay, fine. I'll try to be nice.

You don’t have to be nice.. I’m sure I’ll tell someone to fuck off within a week.. then we will move on 😅

I appreciate you being transparently vocal here, and expect you take the role there as well. In the other side, we will still have some whales, who would have their own rules, but the community will have to come together and settle that. See you on the other side.

Whales are part of the community, we are all in this together 🙂

I'm so proud to be a part of this great change! See you on the other side!

Hi there

I've been reading through many comments related to new hive chain and I've seen your comment too. Many users are being torn, however majority seem to be moving to new hive.

Are you fully moving there or will you stay on both chains? Just curious. I'm trying to figure out what to do myself.

Hi, I'm moving permanently to Hive, I’ve already started the Powerdown.

Big Thx for your reply. I think i will stick around on both chains for time being.

I also figured that you may find this post interesting and worth your time:

It's post published by good friend of mine and I'm helping him to promote their curation trail.
