Vietnamese idioms have sentences ''Đói giỗ cha, no ba ngày Têt''. Tet people come to, even though they are poor, they try to borrow and manage to have enough to eat for three days of Tet so that they can "grow old rice bowls and have new clothes." Moreover, despite the hunger year-round, until the New Year, everyone, especially children are often eaten enough. New Year's Eve meals are more plentiful, richer and more chic than regular meals.
