THEY USE THE SAME OIL FOR 14 DAYS! | Former McDonald's employee speaks out!

Should you eat a McChiken or a BigMac?

McDonald's fried products are quite popular among the lovers of the food chain, especially the fries and the McChicken. In my 6 months working on McDonald's, I learned a few things about the fries and the chicken products

Safe? Yes, Good? that's up to you

The oil

The oil that was being used in my restaurant was almost solid inside the barrel but it melts really easy

The oil is used for 14 days, of course, there is a filtering process but I think 14 days is just too much, and this is indicated in the actual manual of the oil  so I assume this happens worldwide (McDonald's has manuals for everything) As you might imagine the quality of the oil decreases fast, by the third or fourth day the fries are mostly brown rather than golden and they stay that way the whole 10 days. The oil is used the whole fucking day for 14 days that's just too much for me

The Fries

The McDonald's fries are famous all around the globe, the only advice I could give you is to buy only if the restaurant has people on it, if you are going just right before it closes you are eating reheated garbage

If you want to make fries like McDonald's does you need to fry them just a little in 150ºf oil and then put the whole bunch of fries in the freezer overnight, after that just fry them at 155ºf for 3 minutes and that's the whole secret

By the way, there is not a lot of difference between regular size fries and the big size fries, the biggest fries are equal to about 1,4 or 1,5 regular fries, the same is for the size of the soda

The chicken

source

The McChicken is one of the most popular burgers at the restaurant but it has a critical problem, it goes dull fast

The chicken is crunchy and tasty when is out of the fryer but unlike the meat, it really loses all of its properties just a couple minutes after being cooked. All the chicken is stored in the UHC after being cooked but you don't have to be Gordon Ramsey to notice how fast they turn soft

By McDonald's standards, the chicken products have to be thrown in the garbage if they aren't sold in 20 minutes but employees don't like to throw away food just like that and they can eat it neither, so a lot of clients receive really old patties when this happens, but they never notice it because of the bunch of mayo and lettuce

The final advice

If you love it just buy it, even when the truck oil can be bad for you I really doubt you are getting sick because of a chicken nugget or a couple fries, but if you want to enjoy the experience at McDonald's a little more just go for the unpopular burgers or the deluxe burgers, but consider meat above chicken just because of flavor. The meat is really well seasoned and it's high-quality meat but the chicken is just plain chicken without any seasoning at all

Always go with the trend. If you see that a lot of people at the queue are requesting a McChicken this is the perfect moment to ask for one because you are getting one that has just been on the fryer a couple seconds ago

The next post I will talk about meat and how to properly ask for that lovely BigMac or that cheese quarter pounder

Nothing would surprise me at McDonalds - you're right the chicken goes like cardboard very quickly!

I don't think I've ever eaten fried chicken at McDonald's. There's just something I don't like about their chicken. I really do love their fries though. In my opinion, their fries are superior to the fries at a lot of other fast food establishments, such as Wendy's. Wendy's fries are awful.
