Website cryptocurrency exchange WEX not available (UPD: domain frozen DNC)

in #exchange6 years ago

The infamous cryptocurrency exchange WEX went offline. At the time of publication, the exchange website (wex.nz) not available.

As we reported earlier, clients of the exchange since July this year can not withdraw their funds-only a few low-liquid cryptocurrency withdrawals are available. In this regard, the forum Bitcointalk was launched with a "collective investigation" of possible fraudulent actions of the exchange.
One of the most active commentators in the thread is a user under the name Just — according to Alexei Vlasov, a former chat moderator of btc-e.nz, and a key figure in the development of the functionality of the now closed exchange BTC-e, the assets of which had been arrested by the FBI (the accounts of the customers passed on WEX). In the thread, he agitated users not to panic and not to withdraw assets through cryptocurrencies available for withdrawal.
At the same time, it is quite remarkable that the exchange went offline after the correspondence with Sarah Parker was posted in the thread — presumably, this is the old administrator of btc-e.nz :
UPD:
Domain Name Commission (DNC) announced the suspension on November 21 of the following domain names:

wex.nz
wexbet.nz
wexcash.nz
wexcoin.nz
wxcash.nz
wxcoin.nz
The report says that domain names are suspended in connection with the investigation of compliance of domain registration data on the basis of complaints received by the DNC. The person who registered the domain names could not verify their contact information, the presence of which is a prerequisite for any owner in the domain zone .nz.
