Ethereum Classic Price Rise Incoming

in #etc8 years ago (edited)

I have been following (and yes, I have invested in ) Ethereum Classic.

I am a big fan of what Ethereum stood for, which I believe ETC now carries on. Being that "code is law" and that the blockchain should be immutable and censorship proof.

So I have been thinking of the future price movement on ETC, and I have come to the conclusion that the price will see a dramatic increase in the next few days.

This is in contrast to popular belief. Currently, the market is proposing the following that will push the price down:
1. The ETC from the DAO-C that is currently being distributed - starting yesterday. The exact figures can be followed here: https://daoc.codetract.io
2. The hacker-funds. Popular belief is that as soon as the hacker gets his hands on his stash, he will dump it all on the market on the 2nd of September.

My counter-arguments are as follows:
1. Almost half of the ETC-C from DAO-C has been distributed (https://daoc.codetract.io) and it only temporarily dumped the price of ETC for a very small period yesterday. No "price falling to 0!" as most proclaimed. With half remaining to be distributed, I do not see another price crash.
2. Now, the hacker. Let's be realistic. The hacker funds are under careful scrutiny and when the funds move, everybody will know about it. Polo and other exchanges will freeze the hacker-ETC when it does make it's way to said exchanges.
3. Flowing from point 2 above, the hacker funds are effectively "burned" and taken out of circulation. Thus the hacker funds will INCREASE the value of ETC and not cause the value to decrease.
4. Further - the White Hat or Robin Hood funds that were frozen on Polo and Kraken are now effectively also taken out of circulation. Nobody knows exactly what the status of these funds are, except that they will remain frozen, while the investigation into the White Hat/Robin Hood/ETH Foundation conduct is being investigated.
5. The market will soon realise that the original ETH values only live on in ETC. ETH has been compromised. As time passes, more apps and organisations will leave ETH behind and deploy on the original ETC chain.

Thus, in my view, hold on to your ETC! They will be worth a LOT more pretty soon! And their value will continue to grow, while the value of ETH will start a steady and long decline.
