"A World of Facade"

The sky, look so clear and blue
almost as if I'll never go astray...
yet this world is a facade; not true.

The bright sun above, can anyone woo?
Can the broken shadow find its way?
The sky, look so clear and blue...

When a dream shatters, what'll you do?
The call of despair will you fall prey?
This world is a facade; it's not true.

In this cruel world, how far can you go?
For a bit of hope, are you willing to pay?
The sky, look so clear and blue...

When revolution calls, will you say no?
When the end is near, can you only pray?
This world is a facade; it's not true.

Scattered all over is life's tiny clue
but do you have the will to look and stay?
The sky, look so clear and blue
if only it's no facade but instead true...

What is a Villanelle?

A villanelle (also known as villanesque) is a nineteen-line poetic form consisting of five tercets followed by a quatrain. There are two refrains and two repeating rhymes, with the first and third line of the first tercet repeated alternately until the last stanza, which includes both repeated lines. The villanelle is an example of a fixed verse form. The word derives from Latin, then Italian, and is related to the initial subject of the form being the pastoral.
