OK - check out the link for one of the news stories floating around Denver.
I appreciate investigative reporting, and the 360 approach that Denver news now takes . HOWEVER... i personally think this story needs to be put to rest. A woman is blaming Costco and its subcontractors for missing money THAT SHE LEFT in her refrigerator that was being hauled away. While the mistake is tragic, and the money has not yet been recovered, trying to blame Costco or the subcontractors that hauled away the old fridge I think is above and beyond reason.
First of all, the 'victim' LEFT the money, wrapped in paper towels and placed in a zip loc baggie, in the freezer that she knew was being picked up . My guess is that the money is just as likely to be sitting in a landfill somewhere as it is in someone's pocket.
The implications being broadcast by the victim and her story seem to be that Costco and other enterprises need to screen their subcontractors more closely. Lady - if mother theresa had hauled away the freezer, she, as I, probably would have tossed/trashed a paper towel wrapped object in a baggie left in the door.
