Issues of tithing in Nigerian churches

LENDING MY VOICE TO THIS ARGUEMENT. There is so much abuse online today towards men of God, people pick up thier phones and haul insults any manner they deem fit But id love to keep my arguement constructively. There are those who say all faith-based institutions owned by churches should be free or at minimum cost because of course when the missionaries came all mission schools were free. I totally agree with you, i am a product of the missionaries. I schooled at Madonna Montessori Nursery & primary school (a school owned by the catholic church) i then attended the prestigious Hope Waddell Training Institution (named after the missionary Hope Masterton Waddell, owned by the presbyterian church). And while i should share your sentiments, history disagrees with me, Africa has been spoonfed too long. When the missionaries came, they distributed free Bibles, books, medicines etc the problem is all these were sponsored by the home country, the Church of scotland(now the presbyterian church) contributed immensely for the growth of the gospel in africa, people would farm and hand over all the profits from sales to the missions board, others would do menial jobs, anything in far away scotland, just to be able to donate to the spread of the gospel in Africa. Pause now and reflect, 200 years later, africa is still surviving by foreign aid, the "giver-nations" have progressed far beyond the reach of Africa. All african nations still run to foreign countries for investments, job opportunites etc. Go to covenant univ, it is one of the best in africa, all thier labs are fully, i mean fully equiped, the architecture and planning is sound. Do you know 60% of teaching staff are renowned professors? Do you know the budget for covenant univ a year? How do you expect a university of that standard to collect a 100k as a years fees. Go to america and ask what it cost to go to college. Parents open college saving accounts immediate a child a born so as to be able to meet the cost of college. 70-80% of america doctors graduate with nothing less than 300-400,000 dollars of debt. Do you know tertiary education in nigeria is free- subsidized to the lowest minimum? Pastors are driving private jets and so what? Where were you when the church was so poor it was common to identify a rat that lived in the church hence the phrase 'Church rat'? Where were you when orthodox pastors were so poor, people would rather commit suicide than answer the call to ministry. Are you aware that we have dead pastors that were so poor thier sons vowed that if following God could make their fathers so poor they would rather be athiests? Those of you who keep asking "what would Jesus do" should remember the 3years of Jesus's ministry was sponsored by 3women. Just 3women. Those of you who believe the call of God upon your life is to make pastors accountable for every kobo you give in church should remember if Jesus were like you Judas woulda been sacked long ago. Jesus knew he was stealing from the purse but never said a thing. Who has made you a judge oga?. So Adeboye asked for 1billion naira donation and so what? Do you know Dangote singlehandedly donated 4million naira to establish Islamic banking in Nigeria. You dont have 4billion instead of you to ask Jah to elevate you you are busy running your mouth online, abusing pastors. Be careful before you lay a curse on your destiny. He that has a ear let him hear.LENDING MY VOICE TO THIS ARGUEMENT.
