Very helpful video Chris. While we are on the subject, whats your short term/medium expectation for Bitcoin Cash? Do it think it has the potential to become THE BITCOIN when the dust settles or do you think it will remain at some lower level and just become yet another one of the many altcoins? I am curious on your opinion as I recently found out that a group of developers created a way to implement lightning network on a bitcoin network without the need for segwit, which made me think that maybe BCC/BCH might eventually be able to get the competitive advantage at some point?

BTC (segwit) 1MB blocks + lightning network potential?
BTCX (segwit2x) 2MB blocks + lightning network potential?
BCC/BCH 8MB blocks + lightning network potential?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

I don't see BCH taking over no. I also don't think we will ever see Bitcoin Cash adopt lightning because they would see that as an 'off chain' scaling solution, something they stand against.

That's exactly what I should do - my Ledger nano S is on beside me, but I am to busy with steeming :-D

Upvote and also resteemed this time! Your stuff is very professional made - like it! THANKS FOR THIS - helped a noob like me ;-)

nice pls upvote for me dear

Post some more comprehensive comments and I will :)

Great post. Thanks for sharing

Thanks! Been waiting for this post! How do I get my Bitcoin Cash if I have Bitcoin on a cold storage wallet?

Are you hodl Bitcoin Cash, and if so, how long is your planned hodl?

I have all my crypto in cold storage laminated and don't trade.

My Nano S Ledger was just delivered from Amazon two days ago! What will you use it for? Storage AND purchases?

Do you have some crypto within online wallets like MyCellium or others? If so which one of the online wallets do you use?

Thanks so much! Followed, Upvoted and Resteemed!

The process is slightly different for each wallet that's my only problem. I'll see about doing some more Bitcoin Cash claim videos.

I stored my bitcoin in a Mycelium wallet on my phone during the fork.
To split the BTC and BCH I used the Electron cash wallet. I only trust it with my BCH so I first had to empty my BCT from the HD wallet.
You need to send the BTC to a different wallet because if you just make a new wallet in Mycelium it will still be the same seed.
I then imported the seed into the electron Cash wallet and send it all to Bittrex.

There is a privacy risk with emptying your complete wallet with one transaction because you will link all your addresses. If you prefer privacy you need to send each unspent amount separate.

Hi @marketingmonk!
Thanks for this! I was wondering if you could guide me through the process of extracting my bitcoin cash from Exodus?
I have my Bitcoins there, and learnt before the hardfork took place, that after it I could export my private keys from Exodus and import them to a Bitcoin Cash supported wallet.
Alright, I've got my private keys with me, but I have no idea what wallet to use nor how, in order to get my bitcoin cash.
Could you help me?

Thanks in advance!!!
cristina

I've had many requests to do a similar video like this for other wallets. It just so happened that I have my Bitcoin stored in the Ledger Nano. I'll see what the most popular request it and consider doing a video on it.

Trezor finally got their BCH claim tool up yesterday and even today they recommend sending to a 3rd party exchange for uninterrupted access. Frustrating if you wanted it while price was up (for exchanges/gifts/tips/whatever) and yet I tend to respect their caution as they worked the bugs out. BUT it pushes me towards other wallets like nano from now on - never a boring day in cryptonics!

Watch your youtube videos. Will watch on steemit now to support you.

Very much appreciated.
