Where will your post payout take you?

in #charity7 years ago (edited)

Mine? My post payouts were able to go beyond borders. It was able to take me to places I had never been to and I was able to share my travel experiences all to you here.

Aside from the wonderful things I was able to experience because of #steemit, I was able to take part in helping some students in public senior high school in Guimaras. You can read my short entry of that here last month.

By the way, here is glimpse of the full documentation report that was sent to me by Mr. Euste, a good friend of mine from Teach for the Philippines who is working as a Teacher Fellow from 2017 Cohort B. I was able to check it out awhile ago but he sent it to me last January 20, 2017. I really felt giddy upon reading the full report. And since it is in pdf, I decided to highlight the important things.

Executive Summary

#ParaSaJNHS is a donation drive that aims to provide two mobile wifi devices for the Grade 11 and 12 students of Jordan National High School for their research work. It was posted on December 8, 2017 on Twitter and Facebook.

After a week, the received amount has exceeded that expected target that it why the organizers decided to buy a printer which is also deemed useful for the students so that they could print materials which are needed for them to study. All in all, the donation dive raised P7,600.00 (which is approximately USD152).

Almost half of the amount that was raised came from my payout earnings. I was very ecstatic!

The expected amount was just Php2,900.00 pesos, therefore it reached 293% of the expected target.

The total amount for the devices and printer is Php7,290.00 , meaning there is a remaining balance of Php310.00. It will then be used as prepaid load for the internet devices since it was not using plan coverage.

Why do I support organization's cause financially?

I really trust and support Teach for the Philippines because of its advocacy to have a transformative education system. Just like steemit, it may not answer all the problems but these institutions are building blocks for nation-building. I was once a fellow of the cohort but I left because depression was eating me during the training. Before I left the group, I really promised to help them in whatever means.

Here is a message from MJ:

MADAMO GID NGA SALAMAT to all those who made our idea turn into reality! As always, we strive to push our students to walk an extra mile in everything they do. With this, we hope to open doors of opportunities for them by using internet connectivity as a tool towards academic excellence.

Now, we are very proud to report that we have already officially turned over the promised mobile WiFi devices (which later includes a printer!) for our students. We were at 293% from our target so indeed, #ParaSaJNHS was a milestone for the whole school community! Also, I am very happy with the continuous support of our school by providing us the necessary maintenance expenses for the said equipment. 🙂

Again, thank you all for making this happen. #ParaSaBata #ParaSaBayan

Start helping your community too if you haven't!

Steemit may not be the answer to every socio-economic problems but let us make good use of it. In our own little ways and with passion of serving others, we can make a change in different communities. You do not necessarily need to help others by giving money, you can also share your talents and skills. ☺

Now going back to my question, my post payout took me to this level of bliss. I really am thankful for every support you give to me from your upvotes, down to your comments. Let us keep the spirit of helping one another.

Thank you!

-Gail😘
