Explain Blockchain to me please..

in #blockchain7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone! I'm brand new to Steemit and blockchain and this is my very first post. Im a cinematographer and director looking to bring great content to Steemit. Hoping someone can help me understand things a little better. So here is my working personal definition of blockchain based on what I've read today. Blockchain is like a software technology that is generated by multiple computers or nodes all over the world. its a database (like a hall of records or timestamps) that is consistent and accurate across all platforms and updates on all devices simultaneously. the information is available to everyone and is 100% transparent and cannot be hidden manipulated or controlled by any 3rd party entity? Is this an accurate description? I'm really interested in learning more. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
