Bitshares - State of the Network - 8th August 2017

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

Observation from this week

This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

  • @billbutler has released a new worker proposal for shareholder consideration. The worker proposal named '201708-bitsharesui' for a total of $150,000 USD for 3 positions lasting for a 6 month period focusing on Improvements to the Bitshares User Interface. The team of 3 members consists of Sigve Kvalsvik (@svk), Calvin Froedge and Bill Butler (@billbutler) 'The goal of assembling this team is to better understand the various use cases for BitShares and, based upon that information, craft an improved user experience.' If you are a Bitshares holder it is your responsibility to view the proposal and signal your intentions. Please find more information about this proposal on the Bitshares.Foundation website linked HERE

  • @stan Larimer and Ronny Boesing (@bloggersclub) are speaking at the 100x Investor summit today and tomorrow (8th and 9th of August). Stan will be speaking at the 'Altcoins: Beyond Bitcoin and the Ether' event and Ronny will be speaking at the 'Workshop: How to Launch Your Token Sale/ICO'. Best Wishes to both Ronny and Stan. More information HERE

  • Ronny Boesing (CEO of OpenLedger) has announced that OpenLedger had an amazing reception at the Finwise Global Blockchain Summit, attracting many Chinese investors and ICOs for Crowdfunding Services. Held in Shanghai, China over the 30th and 31st of July, thousands of visitors from the blockchain, crypto, and investment communities visited the OpenLedger stand and attended the informational seminar where the world of OpenLedger, the OpenLedger DEX and Crowdfunding Services was introduced to them. See the announcement for more details HERE

  • @xeroc has migrated the documentation sources for docs.bitshares.org to the official Bitshares Github repo. This is a move towards open access in hope that the the community and leading projects will work toward extension and improvement of the resources. You can find your more about the move HERE or see the sources on Github HERE

  • @jademont has introduced two new web wallets launched from teams in China; HelloBTS maintained by the team from YOYOW and 1001ICO. Both wallets have built from the base Bitshares reference client and have a focus on ICOs. One of the new features mentioned is an ICO Timeline; which gives investors a roadmap of upcoming ICO hosted on the Bitshares network. Three upcoming ICOs have been listed for IPFS (IOU of official ICO), ATMatrix, and Vechain. Find more information about the ICOs and new wallets HERE

  • OpenLedger has preformed their monthly Buyback and Burn / Sharedrop operations on OBITS and ICOO holders. This month saw a total of 102,035 OBITS Burnt as well as 6.09 BTC Distributed to ICOO holders. This month has also seen a special Buy back and Burn preformed on ICOO; 32.97 BTC was used to buy back 6,706 ICOO resulting in a new total supply of 465,952 ICOO. Read more about it HERE

  • Get your Open.MUSE out of the Bitshares Network and onto the native Muse Blockchain! @cob has announced a snapshot for the MUSE network that will occur between August 9th 00:00:01 UTC to August 11th 23:59:59 UTC. A snapshot taken during that time will be used as the Genesis block for the new chain. Holding your MUSE on Bitshares network during this time is not advised as when the snapshot occurs OpenLedger (the gateway provider for MUSE) will be the legal owner of your MUSE. To find more information regarding this snapshot see the official announcement from @cob HERE. In regards to this Ronny Boesing (CEO of OpenLedger) has made the following statement on telegram in response to lack of action from Open.Muse holders: 'Due to large amount of users clearly have not managed to move their open.muse to their own native wallet OpenLedger will make sure it is possible to have the muse in its new form when available taking a snapshot of the user base and their holdings at the time snapshot of muse is announced to begin'

  • Ronny Boesing (CEO of OpenLedger) has informally mentioned a possible future listing for BTS, BitUSD, OBITS and ICOO on the popular Korean based exchange BitThumb.

  • @virtualgrowth working with Apptrade has discussed the possibility of a worker proposal seeking to update the Bitshares documentation. The proposed worker proposal will be paid 50% by Bitshares and 50% by Apptrade. So far this is only being floated as an idea but their is a call out for comments and discussion HERE

  • @michaelx has done and interview with Joal Comm and Travis Wright from BAD Crypto Podcast. You can watch the interview HERE

  • @full-steem-ahead has released his findings and a guide useful for anyone looking to setup NGINX load balanced fault tolerant services. @full-steem-ahead has used the methods described to insulate his public API servers for maximum reliability. You can find more information in his guide HERE

  • @kencode is looking to hire more team members, The ideal candidates are a Google Material Design Expert or Scala Developer; if that sounds like you or someone you know you can find out more about the Google Material Design Expert position HERE or Scala Developer position HERE

  • The first deployment of Peerplays Eight enters beta-testing next week, which means everyone will soon have access to the world’s first real-time interactive on-chain game (Rock, Paper, Scissors or “RPS”) from a stylish GUI written entirely in the Unity3D framework. You can find more information HERE

  • @virtualgrowth is doing a weekly market update and token give away; Check out his post and vote on your favorite asset HERE, if you leave you Bitshares username in the comment you may even be one of the lucky recipients of the token giveaway.

  • This weeks Bitshares hangout recording has been published and is available HERE

  • Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 381280; an increase of 3020 wallets/accounts since last week

  • The last asset registered this week is asset #1587 and it is named 'BTCX' registered by 'openledger-btcx' with the description 'BTSX: Fast Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System'. THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL BITCOIN UNITED AS PROPOSED BY @STAN

The last asset registered this week is asset #1587 and it is named 'BTCX' registered by 'openledger-btcx' with the description 'BTSX: Fast Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System'.

That sounds like an impersonation of @stan's Bitcoin united idea, there hasn't yet been the sharedrop and the supply is not the same as Bitcoin in Aug. I'd stay clear of buying it.

Really Awesome post thanks !!....My new post ...[Akshardham Temple]

Thank you for your excellent posts, I look forward to them and it is becoming clear there is some serious momentum building behind BTS.

Would it be possible to add a chart showing the combined USD trading volume of bitAssets over time? It would be really nice to be able to visualize how trade volumes are increasing on the DEX.

Thanks again for your hard work!

Thanks for taking the time to right this detailed report with accurate information to help people to understand bitshare more clearly. With this report you can clearly see what is currently happening on the market.

That video about What is Bitshares is so great, even a noob like me can understand it now :D
Great post, thank you @steempower!
Btw, thanks for upvoting some of my travel posts! I just made a new one about becoming a digital nomad ;)

Did I just read that BTCX has been registered? Fast Bitcoin :-)

Interesting ! good content as always cheers man !:)

Thanks for the support, you don't have anything else for me to upvote.

Thanks @steempower for sharing updates of a great DEX platform.

hopefully bitshares wakes up
