ALQO - A Drinkable German Blockchain

It should be noted that the beverage is ALQOholic

This is definitely more than a gimmick,

having an energy drink really shows the initiative the ALQO team is putting into their organization. Red Bull and Monster brands now do billions of dollars in sales each year. The ALQO website is well designed, well written, and looks everything like a company that is taking their goals seriously.

They aim to be an adaptive all in one solution

to converting your wealth to the blockchain, with the functionality to make it possible for everyday use. They are doing this by making fluidity their backbone. The tech world changes fast, and the blockchain space has put Fintech into hyper speed. Forging a concrete identity is useful in many situations, but ALQO is out to prove that in order to have sustained success in this industry, versatility must be the norm.

Sadly, the ALQOholic drinks are not for individual sale

They are part of the Masternode promotional swag, directly from ALQO

Details

  • Since launching, the ALQO developers have been active, and engaging in their online community. They have proven to be constantly working towards improvements and the added functionality that will take them to their overall intended purpose.

  • Significance of QWARK algorithm, is that is ASIC resistant. ASICs are specialized computers that are very good at single repeated tasks. This makes them very good for mining. They are also extremely expensive, and the average person will never have one. Having ASIC resistance works to level the playing field, keep a more evenly distributed network and allow the average person to earn income from mining.

  • Transition to POS is important to maintain users of the network. When all coins have been mined, what is the incentive for miners to sustain the network?

  • 4MB Blocksize "effectively allows ALQO to handle a transaction volume 40x greater than Bitcoin’s." However, this doesn't really speak to the whole picture.

    • A bigger blocksize means bigger payouts for a miner, but this actually fights against the purpose of QWARK algorithm, because larger blocksizes require more computing capacity. This will tend to a more centralized network. As the blocks take longer to complete, it decreases the level of security and increases the possibility of double spends and orphan blocks.

  • Exchanges: CryptoBridge & Stocks.Exchange

    • There is active work to change this very soon

There is a currently a crowdfund campaign

to help ALQO make the jump to more widely used exchanges. It is explained in detail through the link. The donations are totally transparent. The specific application of the donations is decided by a 51% majority vote of the ALQO community.

ALQO is still a young platform,

and as such, has time to prove whether it's a flash in the pan or true to their mission type of organization. As their development team does not have a proven history, there is no certainty.

They are making quick work at the goals set by their road map

without the fuel of ICO funding, and continuing to do so will prove a great show of promise. An organization this size provides the opportunity for an individual to have a significant voice in the project.

Who am I?

How did I get into cryptocurrencies and blockchain?

Sort:

I have much trust in German technology. It looks promising and these guys know their business.

It seems like there is a lot of room for growth in the industry for Germany too. I don't see much talk about use cases, start ups or ICOs coming from German citizens.

This is interesting, I'll have to check it out in more detail some time.

Not gonna lie, I literally said "wow" to myself when I opened up their website. It looks SO cool! Very impressive imagery they've got going there.

Do you know what the deal is with the energy drinks? Are they purely to promote the brand name? Are they being distributed in Germany? Plans for International launch etc?

They're part of a the "Masternode Gift Pack" - will add to the article!

Ah that's a shame, hosting a masternode is way out of my price bracket.

Interesting idea though, I feel like it's a missed opportunity to sell the energy drinks independently... If they can get them in mainstream shops and advertise their crypto on the can that'd boost adoption rates 100 fold imo.

That is a verrrryyy interesting idea. I've caught myself thinking of the coins in terms of American sports. All the hype on Twitter and whatnot has made it less about tech and more of a sort of "supporting your team" mentality. T shirts, jerseys, etc....

When is the first European football squad sponsorship??

Edit: aaaand it happened already

Hahahahaha no waaaaaay... well, it's certainly nice to see, but out of all the sponsers... Cash Coin??? Never heard of it, but I shall hold back judgement haha.

Yeah the supporting your team mentality is definitely huge in crypto, although imo it's not really healthy for the community long term. Too many people blindly HODL a coin out of faith when they should really try to look at everything objectively and weigh up the pros/cons etc.

You're so right! I think the major problem is how foreign this all is to what people have grown up with. I really see education as a major gap in what's needed for healthy growth of the space.

For someone just getting into it, there is SO MUCH to take in, and so much noise. If you don't even have a handle on the basics and the history, it's overwhelming to even try to form your own opinions.

For me, after a few weeks of constant reading and youtube videos I realized I needed more, and decided to participate in a 3 day "BitCamp". I wrote a piece on it if you're curious.

This is the first time i have seen crypto come with a promotional beverage! I think for the most part, these coins tend to sell themselves because people believe in the idea and see a savvy investment, but I think as crypto continues to boom, we will see more promos. Get ready to have a full wardrobe of crypto tees, branded coffee mugs, and maybe some...craft beer glasses?!?

I don't think that's an exaggeration at all haha "I bought this beer with bitcoin"
