in #bartending7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians!
Today we are going to have a small bartending lesson about a very popular drink with Gin which is found in my city Hamburg (Germany). This is one of my favorite drinks and I want to share it with you guys.

Gin-Basil-Smash was found at 2008 in Le Lion the best Bar in Hamburg by Joerg Meyer. It’s combination of Gin,Basil leaves, lemon juice and sugar. This drink is now one oft the best seller and secret tips for all bars all around the world. From now on every week i will show one secret tip about popular drinks and cocktails that not many people know about it and they way you can mix it even at home. I hope you will enjoy it !

Gin-Basil-Smash :
-6cl Gin ( i can recommend you to use Rutte Celery Gin but you can also use something like Tanquery Ten)
-between 10-15 Basil leaves depends on how big they are
-3cl lemon juice
-2cl Sugar

Now you need to put all the ingredients into a boston shaker and start to stamp them together with a smasher about 2minutes. Then you add Ice into shaker and start shaking also about 2 minutes and you will that shaker start frosting . Now you need a strainer and a Fine Strainer  because of Basil leaves and put the drink into a Tumbler with an Iceball. Put a clean big Basil leaf on the top of your drink and you are done ! Enjoy it

Thanks for reading my post.
