3 favorites built works of Zaha Hadid

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Zaha Hadid is one of the people who has most marked my life and I really admire her great and persevering works.

It is an honor for me to be able to show you some of the most significant works that inspire me to continue my architectural career.
The proposal seeks to enter into harmony with its surroundings, next to a river, through an innovative design that follows the concept of eroded stones at the edge of the water. Images and description of the project below.

1-The Guangzhou Opera House in China.

The Opera House is located in a strategic location for the cultural development of Guangzhou and its innovative design makes a contribution to the city by opening up to the Pearl River, unifying the cultural buildings of the sector with the financial towers of the Zhujiang neighborhood.

The 1,800-seat auditorium was designed with the most advanced acoustic technology and the smallest multifunctional hall, with capacity for 400 spectators, was designed to deliver more variable conditions, ideal for art exhibitions, opera and concerts.

The initial concept for the design was the natural landscape and the fascinating interaction between architecture and nature; committing to the principles of erosion, geology and topography. Its design was influenced by the river valleys and the way they are transformed by erosion.

2-Maxxi Rome

Rome, Flaminio, Italy
According to the architects, the museum "is not a container of objects, but rather a school for art", where flows and paths overlap and are connected in order to create a dynamic and interactive space. Although the program is clear and organized in the plant, flexibility of use is the main objective of the project.

The continuity of the spaces makes it an ideal place for any type of mobile and temporary exhibition, without redundant wall partitions or interruptions. When entering the atrium, the main elements of the project are evident: the curved concrete walls, the black suspended staircase, the open ceiling that absorbs natural light. For these elements, Zaha Hadid intends "a new type of fluid of the spatiality of multiple points of perspective and fragmented geometry, designed to embody the chaotic fluidity of modern life".

Special attention was paid to natural lighting, by the fine concrete beams in the ceiling, together with the glass roof and the filtering systems. The beams themselves have a bottom rail from which artwork will be suspended. The beams, staircases and linear lighting system guide visitors through the interior walkway, which ends in the large space on the third floor. From here, a large window offers a view of the city, although obstructed by a massive nucleus.

3-Galaxy soho

The Galaxy SOHO, located in the center of Beijing, is a 33,000,000 sq. mt. construction site composed of a mixed program that includes offices, retail and entertainment. This immense complex is expected to integrate quickly with its urban environment. It consists of 5 separate volumes that are connected through walkways, generating a totally fluid panoramic optic in its path.

The interior reflects features of traditional Chinese architecture, in which the courtyards create inner worlds of open spaces. Here, architecture is no longer composed of rigid blocks, but of volumes that generate fluidity and movement between each other. Platforms that vary to generate different immersion sensations. As users enter the building, they discover intimate spaces that follow the same formal coherence of curvaceous continuity.

The three lowest levels of the Galaxy SOHO contain public spaces for retail and entertainment. The upper levels provide workspaces for offices linked to innovation. The upper floors contain bars, restaurants and cafes that offer the best views of the city. These different functions are interconnected through intimate interiors which are always related to the city, helping to establish the Galaxy SOHO as an important point for Beijing.
