TIMELAPSE PAINTING: WATERCOLOUR BIRD | free calendar in link (Dtube exclusive)

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Every month I design a calendar with my illustrations. For February, I painted a watercolour version of this beautiful bird - waxwing.
Free download link for calendar below.

This beautiful fella is said to be visiting Latvia around this time - early February. That's why I chose it for this month. Waxwings are usually residing further in the North (Sweden, Canada), and migrate during winter time to warmer places, like, the Baltics.

The outcome:

I really like putting my illustrations on practical items. I started designing calendars only for my own personal use, because I really wanted a beautiful, minimal piece to put on my wall. Why not create one myself?
The first one I shared to some of my friends, and then I decided I can make one every month and should share it for free to all my friends & followers on Facebook (I have a few, not much).

Materials

I used my favourite watercolours - Gansai Tambi, 18 pcs set, a Kuretake waterbrush pen, 0.5 mm black pen for details, and a white gel pel

I'm on Steemit for almost a month now, and I adore the positivity and encouragement this platform, and Dtube, has given me. Only because of Dtube I have finally fulfilled my tiny dream of creating a timelapse and talking about art on video.

So I'm sharing to you, too, dear people, my February calendar, free to use.

Download the calendar here!

If you draw or paint anything, you can turn your art into something more, so I hope you find inspiration in this video!

Hello! Firstly, that is a beautiful illustration. Secondly, it's so nice to see somebody sharing their art for the sake of sharing the love. Beautiful thought to arrange your art pieces into a tangible calendar form. Thirdly, your Steemit is gorgeous and consistent. Hope your art journey is being kind to you. I've just joined Steemit and Dtube, so finding my feet. Have a great day! :)

Comments like these warm my heart and make my day! Thank you so much!
I love documenting my artistic endeavors, and I've been greatly encouraged by the people on Steemit and Dtube. Some time ago, I only dreamt of creating a timelapse of my art, thinking I was not skilled enough to show my art and the process of it like that. Now, I've found that people enjoy looking at what I love doing, even if it's just practicing. And this is truly empowering!
I hope you have fun on this platform, and I hope you always find the motivation to share your art.
I'm following you and looking forward to your content! :)

You're welcome @art.life. I feel there is an uplifting energy from this social media platform. It's so different. Kind of reminds of what community and connection is more about. I like how it encourages interacting versus passive engagement. And so far it's been so nice to discover new artists and their process on here. Likewise, never stop doing and listening to your dreams. Sounds cliche but that is what the heart calls you towards. I look forward to more creative content from you too and hope you continue to have fun with the process of time-lapses. :)

Ever considered doing a class for your followers?

I've just started doing these step-by-step posts and tutorials, and yes, I'd really like to make more or even give a 'class' on Dlive! :)

Really your bird is very nice. And my point of view you are a creative person.

Wow, this is to show @dtube is getting nicely along! I love what you do and somehow being on Steem and @dtube makes me value it more than YouTube...

Thank you! I agree with you, the energy, the motivation that I get from being on Steemit & Dtube is priceless! I've found so many talented people here!

So you're saying the comments and thus people are much better? Or higher quality audience?

Hm, I feel that the vibes are much more positive, people here are motivated to share, discover and interact, and the creative people are really putting a lot of effort in what they do. But I'd avoid saying that it's better, it's hard to compare, first of all, due to the user number differences between Steemit & Fb, Dtube & YT. It's just that these two platforms encourage quality content and quality engagement. :)

Yeah, Steem seems to be great for artists, they are so underappreciated. In the end the things we really care for is beauty, art, family.. When things get technical or serious, the whole debate is about silly details. Being in crypto is sometimes a drag...

I'm glad it is working out that way!

What you really like, how beautifully you did that. I like painting too but I'm not that skilled as you are. And surely this post is the source of inspiration for us that we must do what we like and if we could portray our thoughts into painting, that would be beautiful. From a picture, I tried to draw sparrow but I had pencil colors that time, here is the pic, hope you would like.

Amazing I wish I could draw as half as nice as you

Thanks! You can! 😊 Start practicing, play with colours/techniques, and you'll find the best way for your expression!

Well made. I plan on doing some watercolors soon. These are very helpful, I hope you do more. ~Cheers

I'm following you and can't wait to see it!
Thanks a lot! I never could have imagined that other artists might find an insight into my works useful. I'm a self-taught artist, and paint in my free time, so all the great feedback I get is super motivating and meaningful to me.
Take care!

Very beautiful !
Best artists!

Thank you so much! :)
