Steemit's AI singularity bots and real life AI Technologies

What would you say if I told you technology is humanity's savior? Well with technology, humans climbed out of the primordial mire and into a techno-future where most people live better than ever before. But technology is only as good as the people that use it.

The spear let humans hunt more efficiently, it also helped them kill one another more quickly. Chemistry opened up a new world of modern medicine but also allowed for the development of poison gas. Digital and information technologies have connected the world as never before, but they are distorting reality in new ways, with the coming of AI technologies leading the charge.

(Insert Elon Musk quote on AI) He supports AI technology but also warns us to be careful.

The internet opened up the entire world to communication and connectivity, (Cryptocurrency is becoming much more important than the internet itself. ) But the internet has created an age of information unlike anything ever seen before, but it has changed society in unexpected ways, locking people into filter bubbles and internet addictions.

With the rise of AI tech that can manipulate video and automate identify theft, or even let you earn some steem and sbd here fully automated. It will be even harder to know what is true imagine this place with AI content being pumped out.

With the introduction of BOTS in steemit it is no surprise us humans are using it to its advantage and how we use it of course molds steemit, just like in the real world.

Technology is a an amazing idea but it is also a destructive addiction motivator.

Technological singularity

This is a serious concern for us with the introduction of more intelligent AI tech, "technological singularity is the hypothesis that the invention of artificial superintelligence will abruptly trigger runaway technological growth, resulting in unfathomable changes to human civilization."

This means that our rate of technology feats are ever more increasing till the point of no return, the rate of our data understanding will be surpassed by AI intelligence, rather the speed of which we can process at one time will be done by much faster "brains".

Bots here can help earn us money with some manual work after a while bots will allow us to automate content superior to our own.

Transcendence check out altered carbon good example of our near future.

It is inevitable, human are seeking perfectionism and this is our last hope to transcend into "gods", were people don't need to worry about food, emotions and poop :D

Like all things technology can be good and bad. I know that Elon Musk fears that AI will ruin the world, so he wants to make it so humans integrate with computers so we can try to keep up. I know that bots on Steemit are quite the dividing topic. People are either for or against them, but I think they are here to stay. Have you ever listened to Ray Kurzweil talking about singularity and the future of technology? its pretty crazy stuff!

Hey Emily, I agree. Do you believe that humans will resort to merging with machines and starting a Transhumanism movement to save our race when the singularity occurs so we can compete or merge with AI? I think you may find my posts on my take on automation by 2030 and what society will look like by 2040 interesting as you brought up Ray Kurzweil! Cheers :D

I havent seen any convincing posts that bots are good for the future of steem. Good for immediate short-term bumps or gains for some users, but nothing about actually adding or creating real or lastingvalue.

The most important thing for all humans to understand about artificial intelligence is that it is not intelligent. It is a series of instructions, created by humans, that causes a certain reaction. A computer can never become "alive" any more than a cake recipe could suddenly turn into a cake. Just because you make the cookbook bigger and bigger (more "memory"), and make the recipe more and more complicated, there will never be a time when the cookbook is so detailed and sophisticated that it "emerges " into something completely new. The same is true for computers. The danger here to us is that some manipulative people might someday claim AI consciousness has emerged out of the complex programs and the large processing power we have added to it, and they could convince people that the AI knows what's best for them, and people may believe it. When in fact the AI will be saying what they want it to say. That's scary.

I just joined steemit, I see your post is very interesting and also an inspiration for me in writing, I just posted for the first time. please see and check

Awesome post @chronocrypto. I agree that tech has both positive aspects and negative aspects. It has the potential to help us thrive, innovate & create but has flipside merits of abuse, misuse & destruction. I believe that we are on the brink of an exponential growth curve in the 21st century itself and that we will experience the singularity within our lifetimes. I am a cyberpunk also, so you and other readers may find my posts on my take on automation by 2030 and what society will look like by 2040. I loved Altered Carbon Mate and that was a show that really opened me up to futurology haha, cheers :D Also I was wondering if you think transhumanism will become a thing when the singularity does happen so that humans can be on a similar wavelength or superior rather than inferior to AGI?

Cyberpunk is the future. Thank you I will have a read. 2040 will surely be a waiting game to see what wonders we can come up with.

I agree. Part of being human is to create, enjoy the rewards of our creations, and, ultimately, to eventually feel entitled to said rewards without regard for the cost. The feeling of entitlement we develop overrides the caution that may be wise for us to keep in mind.

Yes it seems even a place like steemit is not immune to the forces of automation. This isn't sustainable either, neither steemit or cryptocurrencies themselves. Don't get me wrong, they're a great thing to have come about, but a monetary system isn't sustainable to begin with. We are constantly competing with our own technological progress in the endless quest for work. Automation should be freeing us, not impoverishing us. We are slaves by definition if you ask me. We define our entire lives by our chosen burden. We call this freedom, the apparent right to choose how you will slave your youth away.

Sounds sad, right? I think if it doesn't, it just hasn't sunk in properly.
