BRANDED POOR BUT RICH CONTINENT

in #africa6 years ago

As the yolk is sorrounded with
chalazae and protected by the shell, I am immensely rich in content but always classified as poor or the poorest. Hmmmm
My name is Africa the land of blacks and natural resources. Despite chunk natural resources bestow in me, part of me operates below world civilization belt.
I was colonised and freed but I seem recolonised indrectly because my people keep using resources in me to build and develop Europe, America, China willingly and happily. Meanwhile, everything keep getting worst in me (Africa)
In the outer or developed world, ‘Politics’ is the name but in me it’s rather ‘POLITRICKS’. Politics is a reason for the development of other countries and continent but it’s rather causing serious demotion of the wellbeing and welfare of my people (thus Africans).
In Africa, politics simply means, an avenue to enrich the rich government officials with the economy struggling to stand. Politics means starving electorates whiles government officials squander even in excess. In Africa, politics is a world of corruption where majority of things are acquired corruptly and who so ever tries to fight get killed or end the person’s career. Irrespective of how politics of Africa is compounded with corrupt politicians, there are good politicians which we will continue to mention and praise for their good habits and they are those living the dream of our great leaders.
Many have gone far in governance as we struggle to regulates basic laws in our continent. On the civilization table of discussion, Africans are invited just to occupy empty seats, eat, take pictures and fly home. Africa is invited not based on efficiency and productivity but …..
A Ghanaian poet by the name Gazaf Jibril said “Mother Africa, why have you slept over?” We have slept for long and I know there has not been shortage of people to speak about tragedies that cripples Africa.
Africa has a very large number of fears because farming is very essential to every economy. But let us ask, what good has farming brough to Africa? How has it contribute to make us developed? All we do is plant, harvest, ‘add value’ and then export for processing. Then after it has been processed to a finish good, it’ll be imported and sold to the farmer who planted and water it. Hmmm. We are rich in content by branded poor. Because, yes, we are poor in thinking!
Undoubtedly, creativity and innovation is a common quality of the developed nation . But that is something we aren’t ready to do. We need to challenge ourselves to be creative and innovative so as to punch harder in the eyes of the world. We can feed ourselves, we can also assemble cars, we can assemble electrical appliances and many more just to make us self sufficient and truly independent.
The development of Africa can never exist if we solely depend on government. Citizens even have more power and influence to make change. We can do it. Yes! It’s our responsibility!
We need to think outside the box and crazy like entrepreneur. We need to develop but firstly, let’s challenge our minds to think and measure yesterday, today and tomorrow because it matters. Perhaps, we may think it’s too late but no! The time is now. The youth of Africa need to think of solving a problem which pays higher to the individuals and the nation. We need to feed ourselves, process raw materials and sell to the world an African brand product.
We built their countries for long. Let’s turn to our homes and make it sufficient and greener.
Together we can!
God bless Africa
