Clearly everybody is afraid of this whale. And if there is no stopping him then all of you enthusiastic steemians buying steem are going to put yourselves out of pocket because steem will NOT go to the moon if people are too afraid to stop this.

Claim :

Clearly everybody is afraid of this whale

False.

He fights more spam and scammers on here than most people even care to acknowledge exist. Most just talk; he actually does something to help.

I don't agree 100% with every decision anyone makes or everything they say, and if I did I'd really need to check myself. So using an isolated incident to characterize the entire personality behind an account is not something I can advocate.

Can we get a post about other "whales" who never lift a finger when it comes to countering spam, scammers, trolls, and circle-jerking shitposts that other whales collusively upvote on a daily basis?

Yeah, this particular "bad whale" might not be politically correct, but he actually uses his stake to counter the constant bullshit that's seen around here on a daily basis. So forgive me if I'm not going to jump all over him for self-voting his own shitposts once in a while. What's the point of continually trying to respect/protect reward pool allocation when very few other large stakeholders care enough to do the same...or actually work counter to your goals? You do realize that downvoting means lost potential gains, right?

I'm not going to defend what he has done here, but when will the rest of the larger stakeholders have the guts and sacrifice their own potential rewards to counter what most people see as detrimental shitposts on the trending page all the time and obvious whale collusion/circle-jerks that put them there? Or are we OK with those wastes of rewards and the perception that Steemit is shit and the money giveaway is a scam or depends wholly on sucking whale teat?

Like it or not, you know what you get with @berniesanders. And what you get is someone who isn't afraid to speak up (or speak the truth) and doesn't sugarcoat the fact that Steemit is mostly a shitshow right now...and has been for a long time (basically, since it began).

I miss @berniesanders ....it was much more exciting with him around. I might like strange personalities but I always had a “crush” on honest people. It might hurt but the truth does that to many. It doesn’t mean I do not agree with every word he says but I saw him going deep to speak up. I saw BS because of him.

I believe this is the responsibility of Steem Inc. They have 40% of steem of which about 20% is powered up. They could use that to easily handle these cases but they don't seem to be interested.

STINC is actually part of the problem. They have directly supported most of this garbage.

Is @dan also supporting this or did he leave because of this?

Dan left for other reasons, based on what has been publicly stated.

Dan left? Thats news to me...

Uh...yeah...like, seven months ago.

Did he sell his account? Because he is still somewhat active.

Thank you for sharing! :)

I must admit that i dont know so much about this, but i have been sceptical enough to not use any of the "service" neither whale or cheetah is trying to make me use.

But when it comes to upvoting my own posts, i did not know that was something selfish.
I thought i only gave from my self to my post, to help that post become more visible.
(kind of like changing part of my voting power over to my own post..)

But i have only been here for 14 days, and the system is so complicated that it will probably take something like 3 months before i finally start to understand most of it.

Many have tried to explain.
But since they often explain the same thing in completely different ways, i get comfused.
There is also some few that i know for sure really know it.
But they know it so well that they no longer are able to explain it to those who know nothing.. lol
They take for granted that i know the basic..
And often they want to tell me about everything at once, and then my simple brain just get overloaded, and i miss half of it, and probably misunderstand half of the other part.. lol

Hope you have a great time when u read this :)

It is OK to upvote yourself when your vote is only worth a few cents. The whales votes are worth several dollars each, and when they upvote it cleans out the steem pool generated for that day leaving a few pennies for the rest of us to split. Upvote yourself at will. I just upvoted you too.

But if the whales hadn't bought into steem and powered it up then reward pool would be pennies for everyone anyway.

There is set amount of steembucks that get generated every day. That is where the upvote money comes from. When your vote has low value, voting has minimal impact on the overall pool. When your vote is worth a lot, it is a drain on that pool. By the time your posts are generating lots of upvotes from other people. it is just sort of poor taste to keep upvoting yourself. This is not a hard rule or even something I made up, it is what I have gathered listening to others here.

Finally someone who gets it.

Thank you :) :)

you are wright indeed it took me about three months to grasp the data we working with here.

What service is cheetah trying to make you use?

to be honest i am not sure.
cheetah sent me a message starting by saying "Hi, i am a robot" and from that second i was no longer interested, and then tried to direct me to another side that was supposed to be about similar things..

But i am not here for the money.
So i am not so very interested in bot programs and so.
I want actual people to read what i write.
I have written the same kind of stuff for free on facebook for something like 10 years.. :)

Of course i would love if i in the long run also got a little money from it too, but that is just a bonus if that happend.

I try to mostly write quality posts, and often it is a lot of work behind some of those posts.

I am also a member of a facebook group where people in that group upvote each others posts.
And some times, even if they upvote, i kind of get a little dissapointed when i see in their comment that they have not even read it before they gave the upvote or the comment, because it is the same comment they give on all posts they comment.. ;)

I actually like it better when i get a upvote that give absolutely nothing at all, but when i can see on the comment that the person who gave the upvote actually have read it and liked it. :)
I like that much better then if i got a upvote worth 2 dollar, and a robot comment/comercial together with it.. ;)

Cheetah fights plagiarism... if you see a cheetah message it means the text of the article you are reading is already posted somewhere else on the internet, specifically on the link that cheetah provides.

I have muted cheetah.

But this is the post where it sent me a link in.
the robot did not say it was plagiarism, but that it was some place that wrote about similar things.

I have been writing about this for at least 5 years on internet.
And because of that (and because many other also have started to write about it.
This year we could for the first time read about it as a true thing on Wikipedia too.
Before that about 2 years ago, it only said in Wikipedia that it was something crazy people talked about.. ;)
And when we tried to tell the truth in Wikipedia too, it was edited away the same day... ;)

If someone find a article that is even close to this on internet, i will say it most probably is a copy of my post.
And since the message is the most important for me, that is ok.
I would be happy if i got 5 million plagiats for this exact post.. ;)
I would even pay for it.. lol

But this is 100% my post and my words.
But of course, when you shall tell about certain truths, there is something that have to be the same in all posts about that same truth.

If a Jew for example shall help other jews to say that 6 million Jews was killed, they can not start to say it was 7 millions, just to not copy the first one that said 6 million.. ;)

https://steemit.com/germany/@rezpatex/germany-the-jews-and-khazaria

All it does is point out a post or parts of it have been taken word for word from another post somewhere on the internet. It doesn't mean its plagiarism because it could in fact be your own work, but that doesn't negate the fact that the writing appeared somewhere else before steemit.

That is very true.
because when i started at steemit, the very first thing i did was to copy many of my own articles on facebook over to steemit.

I did not see any point in writing it all over since my intention was to write exact the same :)

But it DOES give people who see it the impression that i am just a plagiat, and since i have done so extremely much research and put so much work in to it and finally wrote a article about it in a way i think most people will understand,
i dont like to get any indications that it is a copy from someone else. ;)

But i am thankfull for your information anyway.
I still like to keep cheetah muted, in case someone will think my post is a plagiat because cheetah give a strong indication that it is.. ;)

And many many people on facebook have shared this post i have written.
That is one of the reasons we can read about Khazaria in Wikipedia to day. :)

Never giving up telling the truth some times actually help. :) :)

No worries, just giving you the info. For the record though, just because you have cheetah muted that doesn't mean everyone else cant see the post still. If you mute someone their posts only become invisible to you, not to the rest of steemit.

You seem to me like a genuine poster here.
Cheetah usually does a blessed job.
To avoid it, or at least to appease its creator whom might undo its comments which do not add credibility to your posts, you should paste the URL of any original copy of your copied post on Steemit.
Then, if cheetah or steemcleaners alarm or flag your post, you might have some moral ammunition to prevent or undo their actions.

I spent nearly a year to understand. Therefore read and read and read but do we really have to understand it ALL ? Just focus on your own blog, Write quality content and interact with your favourite community people.

@steemit.abuse, Very useful, thank you friends, I am from Indonesia, warm regards to steemit friends there.

Wow this is insane.

I'm resharing in hopes that this gets in front of more people!

As expected, this was flagged to death :(

And then brought back to life.
Twice now.

I would just prefer to see an actual civil discussion other than flag wars :(

It would seem that a calm and reasoned response from the owner of the accounts would have gone a long way to helping everyone understand.

Not sure what the point of all these different accounts is... They are clearly owned by one person...
