in #metrics2 years ago

This is next in my series of posts reviewing the amount and value of powered up STEEM on the Steem blockchain. For previous posts, see the end of this entry.

Noteworthy in the last week

  • Week over week, the number of powered up STEEM decreased by about 132K SP, or 0.08%.
  • Over the course of the week, we saw five daily increases and no new highs in the number of staked STEEM.
  • The modeled value lost ground against all comparison tokens except for LTC. Changes ranged from -9% against USD to +10% against LTC.
  • The modeled value remains above its January 1 baseline for SBD, BTC, and ETH. It is now below its January 1 baseline in terms of TRX, USD, and LTC.
  • This week (Sunday through Saturday) saw a total of 945K STEEM powered down, which is down by about 3% from last week's 973K STEEM (Sunday through Saturday).

Daily Powerdown Activity

Here is graph with data from steemdb.io to show daily completed and pending powerdown activity. With 945K in completed powerdowns last week and 1.04 million pending (both measured from Sunday through Saturday[GMT time zone]), we might expect powerdowns to increase next week by about 10% or less.

Sometimes I think, performing POWER UP is fine, however when we need or want to take our earnings to buy something, or simply enjoy a delicious meal, ¿ WHAT? It seems fair to me to make a profit, for example, I am converting STEEM into SBD, at some point its value rises, if I constantly POWER UP I will not be able to take advantage of the increase in SBD, conclusion, if I work, I also make a profit

Yeah, I agree. If we want people to create practical uses for STEEM, then it can't all be powered up. I think it's useful to track it, though, as a measure of investor confidence.

POWER UP is a necessary measure in the development of your account and platform. Of course, ideally, you do not need to bring steem to the stock exchange, but only accumulate. I believe that the price has not yet reached its peak, and now there is a slight prolonged drop, which will soon return to normal.

this week's steem buff is a pretty good number. We need to take this to a higher level. this is mandatory to enter the top 100

117 accounts less power downs less than last week. This is a great result for the week. Thank you for a good and informative report.
